Treatments
HPV (Warts and Pap smear lesions)
Genital warts associated with HPV MUST always be treated.
HPV causes small wart-like lesions in various areas of the genital area.
These lesions, called papillomas, appear as single or multiple bumps and can also be flat.
They can cause discomfort such as itching, burning, bleeding, and/or pain. In more advanced stages, we find intraepithelial neoplasias in the Pap smear.
Laser treatment benefits us in different stages:
• Treatment of warts (condylomas)
• Photovaporization of the cervix for LOW-GRADE lesions in the Pap smear.
This can be treated with the advantages of technology without the need for exhaustive check-ups twice a year.
• Conization with loop electrosurgical excision procedure (LEEP) for HIGH-GRADE lesions in the Pap smear.
Procedure
The LASER works by vaporizing the layers of the wart tissue with thermal energy, reaching the root, thereby reducing the risk of recurrence.
It performs guided destruction under a microscope with strict precision on the skin and mucous membranes, avoiding damage to the surrounding tissue.
It coagulates the exact point where the wart was located, preventing bleeding as well as infection and improving the cosmetic outcome.
This laser treatment option has the following benefits:
• Ambulatory procedure with local anesthesia
• Treating multiple lesions in the same session (duration between 15 and 30 minutes)
• Leaves no scar
• No complications
• Low recurrence rate
• Possibility of sending material for pathological analysis
• Low possibility of self-contamination
• Faster resumption of sexual activity compared to any other therapeutic action.
Postoperative
Follow-up in the doctor's office.
